Portraits

“Traditionally, a portrait is a way for future generations to know someone who lived in a preceding time. I focus on giving the viewer a sense of how it feels to know the sitter.

Up close, my major portraits are abstract, referencing Bridget Riley’s op art and the colour field movement. When viewed from a distance, colours meld together to form figures influenced by the work of Tamara de Lempicka.”
