"To soothe my soul, I go to the ocean. It is ever changing yet always beautiful, in calm and in storm. I gaze at the shimmering surface and think of its unfathomable depths. The vastness of the ocean reminds me of how small we are in the world and that any troubles we have will eventually fade. Saltwater Jewels is a series of small paintings, each shaped like a baguette-cut gemstone, that bring the feeling of the ocean into our indoor lives. These are inspired by the colours of the Indian Ocean, as viewed from Redgate Beach in Western Australia."
