  Study for Polaroid Girl  is intentionally ambiguous. The figure is posed for a typical 'mirror selfie' yet she could also be taking a photograph of the viewer. Photos of women have become increasingly self-made, self-conscious and hyper-aware of the audience. As in many 'selfies', the woman's face (her identity) is obscured by the camera.
