Hazel Dooney creates a study on paper for each image that will later be painted as a major artwork.
These days the artist only uses gouache paint (which she prefers for its fine, ultra matte finish) and 100% cotton watercolour paper in medium texture.
Each study is a one-off, painted by hand and a collectable artwork in its own right. Brush strokes are rarely visible – except when an unframed study is held in front of a light source.
Due to demand for her work the artist has no 'stock'. Instead, Dooney offers studies to collectors privately, as they become available. Finished painting are wrapped in archival tissue, flat-packed and delivered worldwide by courier (with online tracking).
If you are interested in a gouache on paper study painting, please email h@hazeldooney to join the wait list. Hazel will respond to your initial email and let you know when new works become available.
